Draft, pending counsel review. This page describes, in plain words, how the service works from the relaunch. A lawyer is reviewing it, and it may change before it is final.
The short version: Pool Almanac helps you look after your water, but you decide what goes in it. Your data stays yours, use the service fairly, and we'll tell you before anything important changes.
1.The agreement
These terms are between you and FARAN, LLC, which makes Pool Almanac. By creating an account or using the app or this website, you agree to them. If you subscribe, the subscription terms apply too, and the privacy page explains how we handle your data.
2.What the service does
Pool Almanac keeps a record of your pool or hot tub, computes water targets and doses from the readings you enter, reminds you when to test, warns about weather and trends, and answers questions with an AI coach. The free plan and Premium are described on the pricing page.
3.Guidance, not a guarantee
Doses are only as good as the readings and pool size you enter. Test kits vary, products lose strength, and AI answers can be wrong. Before you add anything:
- check that your readings and pool volume are right;
- read and follow the label on every chemical;
- add one chemical at a time, never mix chemicals, and store them as the label says;
- ask a pool professional when something looks wrong or the water doesn't respond.
Pool Almanac gives information, not professional service. You decide what goes into your water.
4.Your account
Give an email address you can receive mail at and keep your sign-in private. One account is for one person or household. You can delete it at any time from Account.
5.Your data stays yours
You own the records, notes and photos you add. You let us store and process them only to run the service for you: to compute plans, keep your history, send your reminders and answer your questions.
We use photos to improve our models only if you opt in. You can export everything, free, at any time.
6.Fair use
- Don't break, overload, scrape or reverse engineer the service.
- Don't share an account to get around plan limits or create accounts to repeat the free trial.
- Don't upload anything illegal or anything that isn't yours to share.
7.Our side of it
The app, its design, the chemistry engine, the AI models we run and the content on this website belong to FARAN, LLC. You may use the free tools and share their results; please link back rather than copying the pages.
8.Availability and changes
We work to keep Pool Almanac running and your data safe, but we can't promise it will never be unavailable. We may change or retire features; if a change takes away something you pay for, the subscription terms explain what happens. If we ever close the service, we'll give you notice and time to export your data.
9.Responsibility
As far as the law allows, FARAN, LLC is not responsible for damage to your pool, equipment, property or health that comes from how chemicals are used, and our total responsibility for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it.
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be excluded, including the Australian Consumer Law.
10.Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app or by email before the change takes effect. If you don't agree, you can stop using Pool Almanac and delete your account.
