Delete your account
Last updated
Draft, pending counsel review. This page describes, in plain words, how the service works from the relaunch. A lawyer is reviewing it, and it may change before it is final.
You can delete your Pool Almanac account and its data at any time, in the app or by email. Exporting your data first is free and optional (Account, then Your data, then Export).
1.Delete it in the app
- Open Pool Almanac and sign in.
- Go to Account, then Delete account.
- Confirm. Your account and data are deleted straight away and you are signed out.
2.Or ask us by email
If you can’t sign in, email support@poolalmanac.com from the address on your account with the subject “Delete my account”. We confirm it is you and delete the account within 30 days, usually much sooner.
3.Delete some data and keep your account
Email support@poolalmanac.com from the address on your account and say what to remove: specific tests, doses, notes or photos, a pool or hot tub and everything logged for it, or your questions to the pool coach. We confirm it is you and remove it within 30 days, usually much sooner. Your account and everything else stay as they are.
4.What is deleted with your account
- Your account, email address and name.
- Your pools and hot tubs, every test, dose, note and reminder.
- Photos you added, your questions to the pool coach and their answers.
- Your notification settings and device tokens.
5.What we keep, and for how long
- Payment records (amounts, dates, receipts) that tax and accounting law requires us to keep. They are not used for anything else.
- Backups: copies in encrypted backups are not edited; they expire as backups are replaced, and the oldest copies are gone within 12 months.
6.Subscriptions
Deleting your account cancels a subscription bought on our website. If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, cancel it there too, so you are not charged again: App Store under Settings, your name, Subscriptions; Google Play under Payments and subscriptions.
