Changelog
What's new.
What's new in Pool Almanac, newest first. The changes you'll notice, in plain words.
In testing: Pool Almanac
Pool Genius becomes Pool Almanac. These changes are in testing now and ship with the relaunch.
- A new name. Pool Genius is now Pool Almanac. Your account, pools and history carry over unchanged.
- A new chemistry engine. One engine now computes every target and dose, from published pool chemistry. Salt pools get the right stabilizer and chlorine targets, and doses come in amounts you can measure, like "7 cups" instead of "57.6 fl oz".
- Ordered plans. Each test gives a short list of what to add, in what order, and when to retest.
- Accuracy you can check. A public accuracy page shows every reference case with the engine's live answer.
- Free tools. A chlorine calculator, a pump run-time planner and a pool volume calculator, each with a metric version for Australia.
- A new look. A calmer design, readable in daylight and in dark mode, with a real two-column layout on desktop.
- Security. Stronger protection for sign-in and account data.
July 2026
- Accessibility. Keyboard navigation for menus and dialogs, labels on every form field, and status shown with words and icons, not colour alone.
- Install as an app. Add the app to your home screen from the browser.
- Email your results. Send a test result to your inbox when you choose, instead of automatic digests.
- Export for everyone. Export your whole history as CSV on every plan, free.
- Honest photo diagnosis. Photo diagnosis is marked as coming soon until it's ready, rather than showing sample answers.
June 2026
- Alerts you control. Choose which alerts you get and manage them in one place.
